We invite you to embark on a mythic journey with our inaugural production, "A Song for Hephaestus." This three-act folk-opera unfolds the captivating tale of Hephaestus, the often overlooked Greek god of artisans, sculpture, and volcanoes, as he rises from underwater volcanic caves to the summit of Mount Olympus. Cast out at birth by his mother Hera, Hephaestus turns his pain into a quest for revenge, leading to a dramatic, emotional exploration of romance, deception, betrayal, and eventual self-discovery.

Discover the transformative power of storytelling and music in a production that fuses shadow puppetry, intricate vocal harmonies, sincere drama, and comedic bravado. Our unique approach, including gender-blind casting, transcends traditional boundaries, focusing on intrinsic character archetypes rather than stereotypes.

Join us in this cross-country collaboration, uniting artists from the East and West Coasts and the Prairies, each contributing a unique wealth of knowledge and experience.

Forged in Fable Theatre brings you a one-of-a-kind experience, using ancient Greek mythology to delve into contemporary issues of being "othered" in society and exploring questions around how to turn the pain and trauma of being cast aside toward creation instead of destruction.

Don't miss the opportunity to embrace the unexpected twists and turns of "A Song for Hephaestus," where the journey towards authentic love and healing takes centre stage.
